What Is Vanilla Powder?
Buying, Cooking, and Recipes.
Pure Vanilla Powder - Organic Vanilla Bean Powder - Tahitian Variety
Grade = A
Origin: Indonesia

You’re familiar with vanilla extract, but what about vanilla powder? Made from vanilla beans, vanilla powder has a more intense vanilla flavor than vanilla extract and can be used not only in baking recipes but as a natural sweetener.

The purest form of vanilla powder comes from vanilla beans. The beans are dehydrated and finely ground. But you’ll also find another type of vanilla powder on the market, where sugar is added. This type, called vanilla sugar, is popular in France and Mexico and used as a substitute for regular sugar in some recipes.

How To Cook With Vanilla Powder?
Most recipes call for a teaspoon or less of vanilla powder. Pure vanilla powder made from vanilla beans can be sprinkled on baked goods like chocolate chip cookies, doughnuts, or toast for sweet, fragrant flavor. Add it to coffee, or use it to infuse your homemade pancake or waffle mixes.

What Does It Taste Like?
Pure vanilla powder made from vanilla beans has an intense sweet, rich, vanilla flavor and aroma. Vanilla powder made with sugar has a sweeter slightly milder flavor.

You can also substitute vanilla bean paste or vanilla beans, although they aren’t as common as the extract. Use 1 teaspoon of the paste to replace ½ teaspoon of powder or 1 bean to replace ½ teaspoon of powder.

Where to Buy Vanilla Powder?
Real vanilla is expensive, and so is vanilla powder. On average expect to pay $50 or more per ounce. It can also be hard to find. Some specialty food stores and larger grocery stores will carry it, and it’s also widely available online. If you regularly use vanilla beans, you can make your own vanilla powder. Simply save the bean pods, dehydrate them (you can do this in your oven if you don’t have a dehydrator) and grind them up in a very clean coffee grinder to avoid transferring odors.

Vanilla powder will last for up for two years in cool, dry place, out of light. Method of storage: store in a ventilated dry place with temperature 18-23℃.

Nutrition and Benefits
Vanilla powder has trace amounts of magnesium, calcium, potassium, and manganese but the nutritional profile also varies depending on if you’re consuming pure vanilla powder or powder made with sugar. Either way, as most recipes using vanilla powder call for such a small amount it’s unlikely it will affect your daily nutrition significantly.

Many EU countries have banned the sale and use of all Kratom derivatives within their borders, and in others, Kratom is officially classified as a controlled substance.

The reasons for this official skepticism are varied, however, the principal one borders on the fact that there have never been credible, verifiable and documented clinical trials, which methodically test the effects of Kratom on persons. This is a very relevant point, and it means that Kratom use must be carefully and cautiously done.

Certain side effects have been evidenced with Kratom ingestion. Some of the following are the more common ones:

Side Effects
Kratom association has been known to produce some side effects. Some are as serious as dependency or addiction, death, and acute constipation. However, Kratom experts say these are almost always the results of the wrong dosage.

Common Side Effects are:
  • Abnormal Sweat: Kartom use can precipitate copious sweating, even in cool environments.
  • Vomiting & Nausea: Strong Nauseous feelings, sometimes accompanied with vomiting is a side effect of Kratom.
  • Stomach Pain or Constipation: Feelings of pain or tightness in the stomach has been known to occur when using Kratom.

Use of Kratom is only just now leaving the areas of origin and spreading to the rest of the world. Kratom powder or Extracts unquestionably has displayed remarkable and welcome benefits, still, in the absence of an officially approved dosage and administration procedure, the best way to approach use should be caution.

Care must be taken only to use the right strains for the right purposes, and informed advice on dosage is important. Doing this will guarantee all the benefits and none of the side effects.
